At my initial consultation I was extremely nervous but after Mr Monkhouse had explained thoroughly in 'easy' language and useful diagrams I felt excited and confident that this was the route I wanted to follow. I was banded on 04Jun14 and have not looked back since. I had my first fill a few weeks later and was losing weight at a good pace. At my 2nd fill it was discovered that the process was not as easy as it should be and could cause a problem in the future. Mr Monkhouse immediately booked me in for an x-ray where it was discovered there was a blockage in the tubing running from the port to the band. He operated straight away and fixed the problem and within a few days I was back to normal and running through the different food textures with no issues what so ever. I am now 19 days post 2nd op and have had my first fill all over again which went like clockwork. Weight is continuing to drop and inches just melting away. I am so happy, feel so positive, and healthy, it is the best I have ever felt in my life. The support of Mr Monkhouse, Sophie, and Kay is amazing. They, together with the 'other banded girls' in the support group make this whole journey a pleasureable, exciting and positive experience.

I had my Gastric balloon procedure on the 16th July and I couldn't be happier with my choice of Mr Monkhouse doing the procedure. The aftercare by himself and his team has been amazing and more than I could have ever wished for! I'm finally starting to recover and after 5 days post-op I have already lost 3kg, result! I have a long journey ahead of me to achieve my target goal and no doubt Simon is going to be a huge part of my journey. His ongoing support is second to none and I can't recommend him highly enough! I feel like talking to a friend each time I'm in contact with him and the warmth and professional care shines through him. I can't thank him enough! From the bottom of my heart, Thank you Simon

If this review helps anyone go for their surgery, il be happy. I myself went for surgery with Mr Monkhouse due to an amazing review I heard/read about him, and I am so happy I did it and didn't look back. I have an enlarged spleen (very very enlarged) and most hospitals (if any) would not touch me for the gastric band that I so badly wanted. Mr Monkhouse was fair and told me it may not be possible but he would take me on and try it. The hospital at spire gatwick calmed all my nerves in relation to refunds if the procedure did not go through which I found highly amazing considering it would not be their fault. Luckily Mr Monkhouse was able to do my operation with a few tweaks, 100% success and I feel flipping amazing!! I was so happy I felt as if I had been given a chance at living my real life again!!!! This man I can not rate highly or thank enough, I felt listened too, supported and cared for the whole way through even now. One of the best things about being under The care of Mr Monkhouse was that he explained absolutely everything too you in detail and you always feel you can ask him questions 24/7 which he will help you with. I certainly do not feel alone with Mr Monkhouse as my surgeon, I know he's a call/ message away and that helps recovery in itself. I will never feel I have said it enough but..... Thank you Simon

I had my gastric bypass on the 16th June with Mr Monkhouse but even since meeting him and his team for my initial consultation, my life has changed for the better! I have never felt so supported and cared for by such a wonderful group of people (the bariatric team). Mr Monkhouse is always accessible, very personable and easy to talk to with a fantastic bedside manner - he obviously takes a great deal of pride in his work and it shows. I have a feeling that I've made the best decision ever for my health and happiness; the continued encouragement and well wishes are just a bonus. I can't thank Mr Monkhouse enough for listening to me, caring for me and doing everything he could to make me feel comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone and am constantly singing his praises to everyone I meet! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Best wishes.

i was in a very difficult situation waiting for an operation that was having a dirrect impact on my new born breast feeding baby. Mr Monkhouse went out of his way to get me in for surgery very quickly which has led to me continuing to be able to feed my baby. I am really gratefull for everything he did and my baby and myself are now doing really well.
